Three time consecutive UEFA Champions League winners Real Madrid has announced the resigning of former manager Zinedine Zidane.
Zidane, a Madrid legend as a player who further enhanced his legend after guiding the club to three consecutive Champions League victories as coach, has agreed to lead the team once again, close to a year after leaving the same job.
The club announced tonight that Zidane has signed a three year deal till 2022, replacing Santiago Solari, who received the sack after the club was eliminated from the Champions League by Ajax.
Madrid has fallen apart since Zidane’s departure at the end of last season. They first lost Cristiano Ronaldo to Juventus, then went through two coaches within the span of nine months as neither Julien Lopetegui or Solari were able to revive the team.
Zidane takes over a team currently third in La Liga and out of any other cup competitions.
