Singer Wiyaala is all about subverting whatever expectations people have of her. She proudly describes herself as the most beautiful woman in the world in the face of a lifelong criticism from others who see her as not conforming to what a lady should look like.
And despite mainstream thought that married women must give birth as soon as possible, Wiyaala says even though she’s been married for four years, she has no plans to give birth anytime soon.
In her recent interview with Delay, the singer said she’s currently not ready to give birth and therefore she’s not trying to conceive.
“I am not yearning for children at all. I have been married for four years and having children is the least of my worries,” she said.
“I have discussed with my husband about children and he says he is in support of anything I want. If I want children fine and if I don’t he is cool with it.”
Wiyaala also made it clear it’s unlikely that she would want children herself, but has admitted that she might agree one day to conceive just to make her mother happy.
“Maybe my mother is the reason I might have a child because I know she loves children and she would love for me to have one.”
