The Triumph of Materialism — Lady Dumps Her Fiancé Because He Wanted to Spend a ‘Mere’ Ghc 15,000 on Their Wedding

For some reason, some people continue to refuse to use their brains when it comes to the subject of weddings, which honestly has become a sort of epidemic plaguing the Ghanaian youth.

Young couples, instead of having a modest wedding and using whatever they save to start building their lives, are rather pumping all their money into a blockbuster wedding, even if it means running into several thousand cedis of debt.

This became so bad that news recently went viral about the Church of Pentecost banning weddings which are unnecessarily expensive. Everyone is aware this is a huge problem but apparently, there are no solutions to it.

A lady has reportedly dumped her boyfriend of 5 years because he was not willing to spend as much as she wanted him to spend on their upcoming wedding.

A friend of the dumped guy revealed the news on twitter. According to him, the guy was ready to spend up to Ghc 15,000 on the wedding but the lady wanted more.

However, when the guy was not ready to go up past the figure already given, she got pissed and apparently cancelled the wedding.
