Barcelona forward Kevin-Prince Boateng was robbed by some particularly industrial robbers Saturday night as he turned out on the pitch for his new club.
The former Black Stars player made his first La Liga start as Barcelona beat Real Valladolid 1-0, and his mediocre performance on the pitch was matched by the bad news he received once off it.
Boateng did not particularly impress in his first La Liga start for Barcelona and was taken off for Luis Suarez around the hour mark. At the same time he was earning his living on the pitch, some armed robbers hit his home in the Northern part of Spain’s Sarria district.
The robbers reportedly made away with jewellery and cash believed to be worth somewhere between €300,000 and €400,000.
Madrid based publication Marca has confirmed the robbery and reports that local police have opened an investigation.
Earlier this season, Boateng’s teammate Jordi Alba faced a similar fate as robbers hit his house whilst playing for Barcelona against Internazionale in Milan.
