Actor John Dumelo has found himself in the crosshairs of the Pepper Dem Ministries after he paid a surprise visit to some female students of the University of Ghana on Vals Day to spend some time with them.
Dumelo shared a video on social media of his visit to several UG ladies who he met in their rooms and gave them a Vals Day hug.
Citi Fm journalist Nana Ama Asante, a card-carrying feminist, attacked Dumelo for his visit, which she described as ‘predatory’ and ‘gross’.
In response to his video, Asante tweeted: “You mean no one on your team told you not to do this because it is predatory and gross?,”
She later elaborated further on her comment after receiving some backlash on social media.
“I’m astonished by the number of men saying this in response to my tweet about a man walking into the rooms of women students to hug them. Do you people know you can be nice to women without being creepy? As in, not grabby, and respectful of women’s personal spaces and bodies?
“Some of you were replied to that John Dumelo video with ”ko nie” and such because you know what it means for a man to access all-women spaces so I know you understand it was predatory but admitting it would mean admitting that you prey on women too. Go and deal with your sins”. she wrote.
