I am yet to hear from a Ghanaian artiste who will express happiness or say something good about the royalties being paid to them by Ghana Music Rights Organisations (GHAMRO).
The complains they’ve been bringing out indicates that their efforts will be wasted if they are to rely on royalties given to them by GHAMRO.
Hiplife rapper, Nana Kontihene has also revealed in an interview on Neat FM’s “Entertainment Ghana” Show that GHAMRO does not respect him with the kinds of royalties they give to him.
According to Kotihene, GHAMRO pays him just Ghc200 while he receives a huge amount of money as royalties from other countries.
“The money GHAMRO gives me is an insult every week, some (money) come from New Zealand, Tanzania, Ireland, US, Australia. When you stream my song online, all the online platforms, I’m paid weekly. There is a report every week,” he told the host, Kwame Adjetia.
