About 9 years ago, Awal Mohammed found favour in the sight of the African biggest rapper alive, Sarkodie after he, Awal performed Sarkodie’s song word for word without making any mistakes, rapping like Sarkodie himself.
Sarkodie then went ahead to record songs with Awal so most of us were hoping to see Sarkodie sign him unto his Sarkcess Music Record label so the young rapper could continue his music career, but sadly, things didn’t go as we all expected. Sarkodie never signed him but instead, he signed Strongman born Osei Kwaku Vincent.
The reason why Sarkodie refused to sign the young rapper, no one knows but speculations had it that, Sarkodie did not sign Awal because of his arrogance.
However, Awal in an interview on Hitz FM’s Daybreak Hitz with the host Andy Dosty rubbished such claims, adding that he is not worried that Sarkodie hasn’t signed him.

“I don’t think Sarkodie signing me is going to be a big thing. If he signs me it’s good if not its also fine and others can also sign me,”
Commenting on Sarkodie signing Strongman instead of him, Awal said he is neither worried nor jealous about the signing of his colleague.
“I felt happy for a brother [Strongman] and that also motivated me to work extra hard. Maybe Sarkodie has seen something in him that he has not seen in me, I only think I have to really work extra hard.”
