STATEMENT — Fifa Reacts to Murder of Investigative Journalist Ahmed Hussein-Suale — READ

The World football governing body Fifa have reacted to the murder of Ghanaian investigative journalist, Ahmed Hussein-Suale.

Ahmed, a member of Anas’ Tiger Eye PI team, was gunned down in Madina by unknown assailants.

His death is believed to be linked to his work on the ‘Number 12’ documentary with Anas, which exposed corruption in football in Ghana.

Ahmed’s identity was compromised by Honourable Kennedy Agyapong, MP for Assin Central, who revealed his identity, along with that of Anas, on his tv channel Net 2.

Fifa has released a statement today condemning the shooting and reiterating their support for journalists exposing corruption.

Anas and his team forwarded excerpts of their work to Fifa, which led to Nyantakyi being banned from Football for life.
