Showbiz Critic Enoch Agyepong Apologizes to Bola Ray for False Social Media Publications

The advent of social media has enabled our millennials to hold several conversations—freely, from the comfort of our homes or even bathrooms.

In fact, new media has somewhat strengthened Free Speech, but this is not without problems, especially when it comes to the reputation of others and the publication of false information.

A Ghanaian showbiz critic, Enoch Agyepong, has found himself in a big trouble after publishing false information on Facebook about Bola Ray, CEO of EiB—a respected Ghanaian Entrepreneur, Philanthropist and Media Personality.

Enoch Agyepong dishonestly claimed that, Bola Ray linked Nana Appiah Mensah (NAM1) to BET and also helped him take Zylofon artists there with gold chains not long ago. And that this so-called ‘linking’ led to NAM1 paying Bola Ray 3 million dollars with Menzgold depositors’ money.

The sheer nonsense of the post can be spotted from afar but for someone to fabricate this and post it online, suggest some sort of malice which probably led to a complaint that was lodged at the Police Headquarters in Accra against him.

After the Police got involved and Enoch Agyepong realized his false statement could fetch him unwanted problems with the law, he immediately took to social media to post several messages—apologizing to Bola Ray for his malicious posts.

It does seem like the good same Bola Ray will let it go without any push, but at least it serves as a warning to those who take keen interest in propagating complete falsehood on social media in Ghana.
