Ten teams participated in the one day soccer gala match organised by the 28 year old Philadelphia Union striker.
At the end of the gala, Nungua Stars emerged winners after beating Arthur Stars to a lone goal in the final.
The winning team, Nungua Stars, received a trophy, set of jerseys, and an amount of GHC 1000. First runner up, Arthur Stars, received set of jerseys, a football, and an amount of GHC 600. One Touch team who placed third in the gala took home a set of bibs and GHC 500.
Manaseh Gyasi and Ephraim Gyasi of Zinaps F/C won the overall Best Player and Best Defender of the tournament respectively after putting up a wonderful performance. For his prize, Manasseh took home a pair of soccer boots and an autographed jersey of David Accam’s Philadelphia Union F.C.
18 year old Manasseh who hails from Teshie, a suburb of Accra, thanked organisers of the tournament – especially David Accam – for such a benevolent act. He also expressed his profound gratitude to his coach Laryea Kingston for guiding and supporting him throughout his playing career. Both Ephraim and Manasseh are expecting to play some trials in Europe after playing some in Cote D’Ivoire.
Attendance was enormous at the Holy Child Nursery School Park as ex Black Stars and Kumasi Asante Kotoko players were there to support David Accam in giving back to the community.
