Sister Derby has rubbished claims that her song ‘Kakalika Love’, which she released after her breakup with Medikal, is a diss song against her ex-boyfriend.
Derby, in a chat with Citi Fm, said the song was simply to let her fans know what had gone on and that she and Medikal were no more.
‘Kakalika Love’ sparked the ‘Kakalika Challenge’, which depicts lovers hiding their relationship but Derby insists the song is not a ‘diss’.
“When I went into the relationship, I was asked on national television, if I was dating him. I said yes. So after the break up, this is my way of telling my fans. [And] I have done that with my song, so that they know what happened,” she said.
“It’s not a diss song. All of us, we love drama. We love entertainment and he himself [Medikal] has been saying it it’s a diss song. I don’t know If it is intentional because as an artist I know that we express ourselves, we tell our stories in music, there is no diss in the song”
