The organisers of the annual Ghana Movie Awards have released the nominees for its 2018 Awards, slated for 23rd December 2018 at Kempinski Hotel in Accra–and Ghana’s self-acclaimed dancehall champion, Shatta Wale (real name Charles Mensah) has been nominated in the Best Lead Actor category.

This is pretty interesting–almost insulting, considering the fact that a lot of Ghana’s big name actors did not score any nominations. But then Ghana, what’s left of the industry?

Shatta Wale scores his nomination on the back of his movie, “Kejetia Vs Makola – The Trial of Shatta Wale.”

Azali, a film said to have come from Tamale, leads with 16 nominations.
