Fuse ODG To Hold First Ever TINA Festival In January To Promote Afrobeats To The World — Billed Acts So Far Include Sarkodie, Stefflon Don, Fuse & MORE

Fuse ODG has always had a strong connection to the continent and has long been promoting it in his music to a worldwide audience from his U.K base.

Starting from next year, the singer most credited with popularizing ‘azonto’  to the world is introducing a new initiative to promote Afrobeats music and also its accompanying afrocentric lifestyle.

The TINA (This is New Africa) Festival is an initiative from Fuse and his team, with the first ever edition coming off at the Trade Fair Centre on January 4th.

The aim of the festival, according to the singer, is to become the global home for the delightful African sound of Afrobeat. Like the Glastoubury Festival, the aim of the TINA festival is to become the go-to festival annually to become immersed in a genre of music, in this case Afrobeat.

The festival would consist of an all day party starting from 2pm, punctuated with a market and fair activities and the concert itself in the evening. Billed acts include Afrobeats pioneer Fuse ODG, Ghana’s rap king Sarkodie, UK rapper Stefflon Don, Joey B, Lethal Bizzle plus more acts yet to be announced.

Over the years Fuse has proven himself as the leading proponent of Afrobeat music and standing up for the African identity worldwide. Through his TINA movement he has promoted the African way more than any other superstar and with his UK background has a way into the global market other Ghanaian artists cannot match. Fuse has become famous not only for his music and helping the rise of Afrobeats world-wide, but also for his tireless commitment to re-educate how Africa is perceived in the world.

Fuse’s  efforts to spread this message have allowed him to connect with a variety of artists worldwide which have led to him earning the first Grammy Award by a Ghanaian last year.  He has invited global superstars such as Ed Sheeran to stay with him in Accra, and gain an experience of Ghana aimed at changing global perceptions  It is in that same vision that has led to the creation of the TINA Festival.
