Actress Lydia Forson has expressed immense disappointment in the work of the NPP government so far.
The outspoken Miss Forson, in a chat with AJ Sarpong on Citi Tv’s ‘Hall of Fame’, minced no words in describing the abysmal performance of the government so far and what she believes are the unrealistic promises made to Ghanaians whilst the party was in opposition.
According to Lydia, the massive amounts of promises the NPP made to win power ensured they were going to find it difficult ruling because the expectations placed on them were too much.
“…When they won the election I wrote a piece, it was supposed to feature in the New African Woman. I said that you know what, they were setting themselves up for failure.
“My article was based on their social media promises. They wanted to win by any means necessary. But I think when you have been in opposition for a very long time you forget what is like to be the head that wears the crown. So maybe any other party government may not be frustrated as we are. Maybe things take time to pick up,” she said.

Lydia added that Ghanaians are massively disappointed because the bar was raised ridiculously high for the NPP due to “all the promises they made and the boldness with which they made them.”
“They were almost arrogant about their promises,” she maintained.
Forson added that she herself has not been impressed with the NPP, although she did not rule out that things might take a turn for the better in the near future.
