Men of God in this country have become very good at escaping responsibility for their actions. Because the gullible masses are ready to forgive anything someone does so long as they claim to hold God’s anointing, pastors have also learned that they can get away with anything they want and still retain their power over their congregation.
Thus it’s harder to find a full ‘dumsorless’ day in Ghana than it is to find a pastor willing to take responsibility for their mistakes.
They know they would be defended by their congregations no matter what hence, there’s no need to apologize. They can blame the devil, the atheists, the gays or any other scapegoat they can think except themselves – just ask Mensa Otabil.
A few days ago a video of a junior pastor of the Glorious Wave Church went viral on social media. The video saw the pastor, Nana Appiah aka Sofo Appiah, naked and chopping beatings from some people after he was caught pants down trying to ‘beng’ another man’s wife.
The man whose wife the pastor decided to ‘eat’ and some others pounced on Appiah after catching him in the act.
The church has responded to the attack and according to them, the man of God was set up.
The response was contained in a statement which you can read below…
MEDIA STATEMENT FROM GLORIOUS WAVE CHURCH INTERNATIONAL – VIOLENT ASSAULT ON VISITING PASTOR APPIAH
It has come to the attention of the Church Founder, Executive Chairman and Church Council Members, a video circulating widely on social media, of a visiting Pastor of the Glorious Wave Church International, Pastor Appiah.
In the video, Pastor Appiah is seen being violently assaulted by a group of men at the residence of a young lady who it is alleged, he was in a compromising position with.
Executive leadership of the Church wishes to notify the public of the following:
The matter has been reported to the relevant security agencies for immediate investigation.
Church internal investigations have also been initiated into the matter. Indeed the Church Founder – Prophet Badu Kobi prophesied weeks before, with all the congregation present, of an impending attempt to disgrace the visiting Pastor, using a woman.
It is therefore the church’s position that Pastor Appiah was set up.
Irrespective of the outcomes of both investigations, the Church condemns in no uncertain terms the acts of violence perpetuated against Pastor Appiah.
While discipline will prevail, the Church will not condemn any member who errs. The Church will rather maintain it’s role in ensuring that all who fall short or make uninformed decisions, are still offered a Christ-like response to their human failings at all times.
In conclusion, Glorious Wave Church International will continue to remain focused on its core ministry mission to change the lives of Christians to influence the world. Also, the church has advised pastor Appiah to take legal action against the perpetrators of this calculated assault.
