During the height of the Asamoah Gyan and his wife’s divorce saga, a near improbable story came out alleging that one of the reasons Gyan wanted a divorce and is requesting a DNA test is because he discovered that his wife was still married to another man and he believes at least one of his kids might be that man’s child instead of his.

That is alleged to be the genesis of the scandal, although it was just one of many possible reasons. So far the most widely accepted one is that Gyan just wants some new tonga to chop and is making that happen legally by annulling his marriage.

However, a new document has popped up online which if authenticated, could lend some credence to the other marriage theory.

According to reports, the document is the alleged marriage certificate of Gifty and her first husband, who she married at a very young age before marrying Asamoah Gyan.

The document is of one Sandra Gifty Gyamesi marrying Eugene Odame Antwi on the 26th of February, 2002, at the Tema Municipal Assembly.

The document purports to lend credence to Asamoah’s claim that his wife got married without his knowledge and thus his marriage should be annulled.

However, we already know from Gifty’s side of the story that she allegedly married the man in question with Gyan’s full knowledge and consent. At that time Asamoah and Gifty were already dating and he was a broke footballer whilst she needed a visa to seek medical treatment outside, thus they both agreed she should enter the sham marriage to facilitate her visa application.

That’s what sources close to Gifty have claimed in the past, but Gyan alleges that marriage was never invalidated and Gifty has continued to bang the man in question behind his back.
