Winter is truly coming, and this time, it’s for the last time.
The 8th and final season of HBO’s mega fantasy drama, Game of Thrones, is set to return in 2019. We’ve known that since the 7th season ended in 2017, but what we have yet to discover is when exactly the show is returning to our screens.
And after over a year of waiting Thrones fans now know exactly when the show makes its return, due to a promo teaser for the upcoming season released today by HBO.
The teaser contains clips of some of the most memorable moments from the show’s run so far, and at the end confirms that the show returns in April 2019.
The final season is set to run for only six episodes – but on the flip side – would have far longer episodes, with some set to run for over an hour and a half.
First released in 2011, Game of Thrones is the television adaptation of George R.R Martin’s Song of Ice and Fire book series, and has gone on to become the biggest and one of the most successful tv shows of all time.
Thrones recently won it’s 38th Emmy Award, and throughout its run has set both official streaming and illegal viewing records.
If you’re one of the 200 people on the planet yet to watch the series, there’s ample time to get caught up between now and April next year. You would not be disappointed.
