Rumours have been circulating on social media that most of these modern Ghanaian musicians are A-listed “game boys” aside from their music and it’s the reason why we have been seeing them so wealthy.
There have been several interviews where people have disclosed that the Ghanaian entertainment industry does not pay its artistes enough money to make them as rich as they are.
Again, movie producer and director, Kofi Asamoah had also earlier stated that people in showbiz don’t get direct monies from the industry.
Following these speculations, Shatta Wale, born Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr who has no other businesses aside his music was asked to disclose the source of his wealth.
This is what the “My Level” hitmaker said,
“I am one artiste who is ever ready to tell the world that God blessed me through music. I started getting big monies from certain companies as Joy Daddy.
“I mention a certain amount of money, the people pay me and I feel they respect me for my craft because they know if they give me a show or when I am on a show I will put it on my social media and promote it so people respect that thing about me.
“Royalties don’t give me money and I’m still waiting for my royalties but then all my money is from music,” he told Sammy Flex.
