Ghanaian rapper, M.anifest has added his voice to the embattled former Ghana Football Association (GFA) boss, Kwesi Nyantakyi’s FIFA lifetime ban over Anas’ Number 12 expose’.
The “Me ne woa” hitmaker in an interview on Starr FM with Giovani Caleb stated that he is not surprised that Kwesi Nyantakyi has been banned for life because the level of corruption exposed by Anas deserves such a punishment from FIFA.
“We all need redemption but everybody must be responsible for his actions, I am not surprised by the ban because the level of corruption exposed was overwhelming,” he said.
Football governing body, FIFA after a deeper dig into Anas’ number 12 expose’ handed Mr Kwesi Nyantakyi a lifetime ban from all football-related activities with a fine of CHF500,000 for breaching some FIFA code of ethics.
FIFA’s statement released on October 30, 2018, reads;
“The adjudicatory chamber of the independent Ethics Committee has banned Mr Kwesi Nyantakyi, former President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), for life from all football-related activities (administrative, sports or any other) at both national and international level.
The adjudicatory chamber found Mr Nyantakyi guilty of having violated art. 19 (Conflicts of interest), art. 21 (Bribery and corruption) and art. 22 (Commission) of the FIFA Code of Ethics, 2012 edition. As a consequence, Mr Nyantakyi is banned for life from all football-related activities (administrative, sports or any other) at both national and international level. Additionally, a fine in the amount of CHF 500,000 has been imposed on Mr Nyantakyi.
The decision was notified to Mr Nyantakyi today, and the ban comes into force immediately.”
