President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has named a new appointee to take over the Coastal Development Authority, Jerry Ahmed Shaib.
An experienced lawyer and politician, Shaib is affectionately known as ‘Chorkor Lawyer’.
He takes over as CEO of the board after the resignation of Samuel Atta-Mensah earlier this year.
Jerry Shaib is currently deputy CEO of the Authority and his promotion to CEO would have to be confirmed by its governing Board in consultation with the Public Services Commission.
Shaib is a vastly experienced lawyer and politician with a tremendous track record in public service. He holds an MBA from the University of Ghana and aside his ersthwhile position as deputy CEO of the Coastal Authority, he is also a board member Of The Special Olympics and an Executive member of the Ghana Olympics Committee.
He was an NPP parliamentary candidate in the Ablekuma South constituency in the 2016 general elections.
The Coastal Development Authority is a body set up by government, under the Coastal Development Authority Act, to help develop Infrastructure for the Poverty Eradication Programme (IPEP).
The Authority was set up concurrently alongside the Middle Belt and Northern Development Authorities.
