If any lawyer in Ghana deserves to be awarded it’s Francis Xavier-Sosu, who over the past year or two has had to battle some really frivolous battles but who persevered and has come out the other side still winning.
Sosu has been a known quantity for a long time as a human rights lawyer, but then sometime ago he was embroiled in a tussle with the General Legal Council, who stripped him of his licence and banned him from practising law for three years.
He appealed and won and not so surprisingly, he’s now been nominated for a judicial service award.
Sosu has been nominated for the award scheme for his incredible contribution to the Justice For All Program (JFAP) over the 10 years of its existence.

The program, which aims at expediting justice delivery to decongest our jails, has been quite successful and Sosu has been one of the bulwarks of its success.
Thus he has been chosen to be recognized by the Judicial Service for his immense contributions to justice delivery in Ghana.
A deserved honour if you ask us.
The awards night would come off on Friday.
