Micheal Owusu Addo aka Sarkodie shook the internet yesterday afternoon when he released a hot diss track to his bosom friend now turn enemy Charles Nii Armah Mensah aka Shatta Wale. We can say for a fact that this is one of the best diss tracks ever directed to Shatta Wale as it has seriously broken the hearts of many SM fans.
A lot of Ghanaian celebrities have in one way or the other shared their opinions on the hot song by Sarkodie titled “My Advise” either under the video of the song Obedeponbede posted on social media or on their own social media pages. Edem, Efya, Captain Planet, Yaa Pono, Strongman etc comments sort to commend Sarkodie for such a song.
The most surprising and strange endorsement of the song came from a renowned Shatta Movement protege and a bosom friend of the leader of the movement.
It is no other person than rapper cum radio presenter Pope Skinny. Pope Skinny has been an avid supporter and fan of Shatta Wale ever since he returned from the wilderness so people see his endorsement of Sarkodie’s “My Advise” song as a betrayal of the Shatta Movement code because at SM they claim loyalty is 4lyf no matter the situation.
I disagree with the assertion above that Pope Skinny has betrayed Wale. In my candid and honest opinion, I feel Pope Skinny himself being a rapper and knowing the nitty-gritty and what goes into writing and delivering such a masterpiece of a work simply endorsed a dose of creativity from Sarkodie.
I often say Sarkodie is an embodiment of an oxymoron, you hate and love him at the same time. Personally, I am not his fan but you simply cannot here a Sark song and overlook it, most especially his aggressive and emotional delivery coupled with his funny and witty punchlines. This is what Pope Skinny saw in the song that made him endorsed it not because he wanted to as they put it sellout his friend.
