A thirteen year-old boy from Yakasi in the Eastern Region of Ghana has committed suicide.

The boy by name Joseph Ackah’s body was found hanging in an uncompleted building close to where he lived, according to a GNA report.

Deputy Superintendent of Police(DSP) Ebenzer Anim Ofori, the Enchi Divisional Crime officer, told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that, Joseph lived with his grandmother at Yakasi.

He said the deceased on September 23, 2018, around 16 hours was sent by the grandmother to purchase items for her. He returned home empty handed and when the grandmother questioned him, he refused to talk.

He left the house and never returned. The grandmother reported the case when it got dark and she saw no sign of him. The police found him dead the next day in an uncompleted building.
