As the dollar continues to gallop against the cedi, fuel prices increase and cross the mythical Ghc 5.00 barrier, and Ghanaians complain of hardship, President Nana Addo Danwka Akufo-Addo has been awarded for his exemplary leadership skills.
The Rebranding Africa Forum has presented President Akufo-Addo with the 2018 Governance Leadership Award, apparently for his ‘commitment towards enhancing the living standards of the Ghanaian people, and governing Ghana in accordance with the rule of law.’
The President was presented with the award in the Burkinabe capital of Ougadougou on Friday.
Receiving the award, Akufo-Addo said: “We are duly humbled, and I thank you most sincerely for deeming my leadership of Ghana, over the last 21 months, worthy enough to merit this award,”
President Akufo-Addo won elections in 2016 on the back of myriad of promises to Ghanaians.
Yet so far, Ghanaians are far from enthused with what they are seeing as the cost of living continues to rise and outpace wages.
