Back in the good old days it was impossible to make a name in the rap game without proving yourself on Adom Fm’s ‘Kasahari Level’.
The program served up some fantastic rap battles and provided exposure to some of the biggest names in the game at a time their careers were yet to take off.
Sarkodie is an alumni of the program and during his early days, he went on many times to prove himself and had some really bruising battles against other up and coming stars of the time.
Now arguably Ghana’s biggest rapper, Sarkodie reminisced on those days in an interview with Dr Duncan.
Sark spoke about the battles he had and named Criss Waddle as his toughest opponent from those days.

“From Monday to Friday you know, you meet me sitting behind my mum’s house just to get punch lines to face any rapper you give me, but my closest battle was Waddle, that was a very intense and emotional battle.
“The battle between Waddle and I was “hot”, Waddle was the king of Kasahari and was the boss so he was absenting himself, I was also the new kid killing all the other rappers on the show so I was tasked to challenge Waddle and be the new rap king.” he said.
“The battle was scary I felt like we were in a boxing ring”.
Sark at the time battled many upcoming names including Yaa Pono, Stay Jay, Stonebwoy and others but Criss Waddle clearly was the toughest battle he had at the time.
