The Album artwork of the highly anticipated “Reign” album of the self-acclaimed king of Ghanaian Dancehall music, Shatta Wale was unveiled last week.
Following the release of the Artwork were criticisms ─with some of the reasons being that it’s a copied artwork and also the worst ever to be seen in Ghana.
Some explained that they were not expecting to see such a “horrible” artwork for an album which has been hyped and promoted in Ghana and even beyond for months.
However, the designer of the artwork, Kwame Kyei has reacted to rumours speculating on social media that his work was a copied one.
Speaking with Sammy Flex during an interview on Zylofon FM’s Showbiz Agenda, the designer stated that he is not bothered at all about the ill-comments people have shared on his design.
“It doesn’t bother me at all that people think it is a copied work, at least I know it has made some impact”, he said.
He added that even though the artwork looks similar to that of the American rapper Rick Riss’ but he did not copy it.
“I didn’t steal the concept. My inspiration is art. I only blended a photo with writings”, he told Sammy Flex.
