From ‘Gbee Naabu’ To ‘Julor Kwakwe’ — Shatta Wale Roasted For Stealing ‘Reign’ Album Artwork From Rick Ross

The Ga people of coastal Ghana, of which Shatta Wale is a proud member, have reserved the name of a mouse for thieves – in honour of the rodent’s love of ‘stealing’ fish or anything else left out by humans.

Thus a thief is dubbed ‘kwakwe’, or mouse – which was the inspiration for another Ga artiste Tinny’s best selling single and album of all time.

Shatta Wale has the displeasure of being dubbed a ‘julor kwakwe’ by social media after the release of the artwork for his much hyped, much anticipated ‘The Reign’ album.

The album art bears a close resemblance to one used by Rick Ross last year for his ‘Rather You than Me’ album and that has sparked accusations of Shatta ‘stealing’ his idea for his album.
