On September 7, 2018, Ghanaian Gold dealing company, Menzgold limited received a letter from the Securities and Exchange Commission, SEC asking them to stop operating.
SEC served Menzgold with a letter to stop working with immediate effect reasons being that Menzgold does not have the necessary documentation which permits them to operate.
This step taking by SEC against Menzgold triggered a lot of prominent and concerned personalities in Ghana to add their voices in support of Nana Appiah Mensah and his company.
A video has been sighted on social media in which Ghanaian female actress, Benedicta Gafah signed to Zylofon Media was seen urging all customers of the gold dealing company to calm down.

“First of all, I will like to have some discussions with you concerning Menzgold, I will like to urge all customers and clients dealing with Menzgold to remain calm as everything is under control. Your gold deposit with Menzgold are secured and safe and you can have it anytime in the day.
Secondly, it’s never true that Menzgold has been shut down as being speculated by certain media houses, nope, Menzgold is still functioning and you can walk in any of their branches to find out for yourselves“, she said in the video.
