It is quite pathetic and unbelievably dumbfounding as nothing, absolutely nothing seems to work well and properly in this country of ours. Sometimes I mutter to ask myself whether if I find myself in a cursed country.
Not a single system or structure in this country seems to work genuinely. Our hospitals lack common beds, issues with water and electricity still persistent, workers are not paid their salaries, professional Nurses demonstrating for jobs, lack of chalks in our schools, teeming youth unemployment and a whole lot of problems abound in this country.
So this morning a friend of mine who is a nurse contacted me. Actually, she saw an article I wrote which I posted on my Whatsapp Status. The article was about The 5 best celebrity marriages in Ghana. She texted me that I should write about her (them) because they are suffering as nurses.
So I asked her what exactly is wrong with her (them) that she is demanding me to write about. This is where I read a shocking revelation.
She told me the most disturbing issue I have heard in my ears this year. My friend (nurse) unveiled to me that Rotation (National Service) nurses have not been paid their monthly stipend or allowance for the past six months.
How do people in charge of these nurses allowance expect them to survive and work properly when you have refused to pay them for all these months.

We sit in this country and expect nurses to work with utmost professionalism and integrity when they are hungry ─no wonder we have a useless and a messed up healthcare delivery service.
These nurses deserve their better and we at GhanaCelebrities.Com are beckoning on Government as a matter of urgency to pay these nurses what is due them. A hungry nurse is a potential killer.
