Brazilian and Real Madrid defender Marcelo has received a 4 month jail sentence for tax fraud.
Marcelo, who plays at left back for the Spanish giants, received the sentence for defrauding Spanish tax authorities of €490,000 in 2013.
Marcelo evaded paying taxes on portions of his earnings after using a foreign firm to handle it.
To avoid jail time, the defender agreed to a four month suspended sentence and paid a €750,000 fine.
Marcelo is the latest football player to get in tax trouble in Spain, after both Ronaldo and Messi and a raft of other stars, all of whom accepted suspended jail times and paid sometimes multi million dollar fines to evade time in prison.
