Born Darryl Kwesi Bannerman-Martin known by his stage name Joey B has rubbished claims that he has a bad relationship with his former boss, D-Black.
The singer speaking in an interview on Hitz FM’s Daybreak Hitz said, there is no such feud as claimed by the majority.
He revealed that he stayed with D-Black for over 18 years and it was D-Black who introduced him to the music industry and that he cannot hate such a person.
“I love D Black too, I don’t know why people think we have fallen out. I stay with him for over 18 years. He is like Jay Z to me. Forever in my heart. He is the reason I went mainstream. I don’t joke with him”, he said.

When asked why he left Black Avenue Music where D-Black is their headliner, Joey B said, “I wouldn’t say there was ‘beef’. There was a misunderstanding. I wanted to be on my own. He had a plan but I also had one. I was creative and being stubborn.
I heard handling a genius isn’t easy. Look at Kanye. We sometimes misunderstand him”, he said on Hitz FM.
