Rev Obofour Gives The ONE Condition Under Which He Would ‘Allow’ Himself To Be Taxed

Pastors in Ghana have risen up in arms against the proposal to tax churches, safeguarding the lucrative businesses they are running in their churches from the taxman.

Prophet Badu Kobi has gone so far as to insult the President for the plan.

Rev Asanteman Obofour is one of the most affluent preachers in the country. His riches was recently on full display when he ‘dashed’ Kumawood actor Wayoosi a car and Ghc 10,000. He often flaunts his cars and properties online.

These are the kind of preachers, along with Otabil and Obinim and their ilk , who could raise the country significant revenue if taxed, but none of them are enamoured with the idea.

Speaking on the issue, Rev Obofour said he is not onboard with the idea but it’s better that government holds a meeting with pastors rather than trying to impose it on them.

“If the Government wants to take tax, the president or the GRA boss must call the Pastors with due respect and sit with us and say Pastors what other works do you do so we can take tax from you. But if you come and sit on radio and say it, to me, you haven’t communicated to me yet, because I demand more respect from the office in charge.” he demanded.
