Shatta Wale put some fire down the a$$ of Sarkodie as he dubbed the Sark nation boss a hypocrite over his claims that Ghanaians must support themselves.
The debate over supporting local talent has sparked up once again after the snub faced by Ghanaian artists, including Shatta Wale, at the joint Zylofon/Menzgold launch in Nigeria.
After the event Sarkodie pissed people off after he tweeted in support of Peter Okoye of P-Square and Ghanaians said he’s more in love with Nigerians than his own fellow artists.
Speaking in a recent interview on Hitz, Shatta said Sark is a hypocrite. According to him Sark has no problem going to Nigeria to shoot a music video with a upcoming Nigerian artist but when he (Wale) was an upcoming star Sarkodie could not even be bothered to shoot a music video for his ‘Dancehall Commando’ track.
“I did a song with him but he didn’t shoot the video but with a Nigerian, he did; what is he talking about [support your own?],” Wale fired.
“The time I did the dancehall commando, I had nothing. If Sarkodie had something small he could have [shot the video]”.
Shatta said he’s now decided he would charge everyone for features and they can also choose to charge him in return.
“I am trying to charge Sarkodie for something from Strongman. He told me he will pay. If it’s Strongman from Sarkcess, they will have to pay because that’s how we can keep them on their toes. If he charges me too, I will pay. When you are a man and you fear money, you will never get it…”
