The Member of Parliament for Subin Constituency in the Ashanti region who also doubles as the Deputy Minister of Works and housing, Eugene Boakye Antwi, has cautioned former President John Dramani Mahama to be fully prepared to meet him in court if he is able to secure the nod to become once again the Flagbearer of the opposition National Democratic Congress in their soon to be held congress.
Speaking to Nhyiraba Odeefuo Kwesi Kay who is the host of Ashh FM’s political talk show, the Member of Parliament opined that per his knowledge and understanding of the constitution of Ghana, former President John Dramani Mahama is not permitted to contest as a presidential candidate.
Explaining his point briefly the Deputy Minister of Works and Housing said on the show that since he is a former president of Ghana he does not have the locus in law to contest as a Presidential candidate either as an independent candidate or on the ticket of any political party in the country ever again and he is ready to challenge and test the constitution for John Dramani Mahama’s eligibility at the Supreme Court of Ghana.
