After Emmanuel Adom Quaye, popularly known as Strika in the movie “Beast of No Nation” 2015 Hollywood movie was spotted begging for money in the street, there have been different reports about him on various media platforms.
Some concerned citizens blamed the young boy’s family for their irresponsible caretaking in the boy’s upbringing, others also placed the blame on his management.
However, Ghanaian Dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale who claims to understand true “ghetto life” has reacted to the story of the young actor.
According to Shatta Wale, the boy cannot be blamed for his current life but rather on the management and the makers of the film who introduced the innocent boy into leading that gangster life.
He explained that Strika was introduced to violence and heavy wielding weapons in the movie and we should keep it in mind that not every person can get that ability to control his life after being introduced into such gangster life.
“It is really sad to see that little boy has been left to beg for alms. They could have set up an educational trust fund. How can children be made to handle such arms in a movie?
What if these children turn out to be criminals later engaging in all sorts of social vices”, he told Arnold Elavanyo Mensah during an interview on Zylofon FM’s Showbiz Agenda.
