Legendary Ghanaian Afropop and Reggae sensation, born Julius Kojo Antwi popularly known on stage as Kojo Antwi has celebrated two famous Ghanaian music artistes, Ohemaa Mercy and Stonebwoy.
According to the “Mr Music Man” singer, these two artistes whose name mentioned above have achieved greatness because their songs have been accepted outside the borders of Ghana.
During an interview on Voice Of America’s (VOA) radio show, “The African Dream” in the United States of America, Kojo Antwi said:
“We have Ghanaians music being played in Francophone countries. You go to Liberia and Ohemaa Mercy is a giant there. Even though her music is gospel, it is being played at the nightclubs because they don’t know she is singing about God.
“You go to Germany and Stonebwoy is a headline and that tells you our music is doing well,” he noted.

Speaking about how the use of social media has affected modern Ghanaian artistes, he said:
“It is the vibrant liberation of the airwaves in Africa and I am in my own little way, putting up an incubation centre to start dealing with such issues. The social media and internet have grated all of us a lot of opportunities. Everybody is a publisher, everybody has a space to publish whether we speak against it or not,” he explained.
