The Empress of Shatta Movement, Shatta Michy who is known for her numerous controversies on social media just to get attention has said she has tried to be ‘genuine’ but she has realised Ghanaians are more interested in controversies.
Shatta Michy in a recent interview on Showbiz disclosed that the bad girl image in her has engraved in the minds of her fans so they find it very difficult to accept her when she stops being controversial.
“Can you believe I shared the video of the woman who got beaten by a police officer at Midland Savings on social media and I got just a few likes?
“But for example, a picture of me half-naked and doing something controversial on my page will fetch me thousands of likes.
“I even posted a picture depicting my women empowerment project and got just 5k likes and I was like, is this really my page because, on regular basis, I get about 50k likes on a post,” she said.

She continued, “I think don’t Ghanaians like serious things. They prefer controversies and scandals. I want them to support me and my new brand because I really want to get the message out there, So I need help and support.
“My SM women empowerment project dubbed SM Women EMpowerment is real and I intend pushing it to break boundaries.
“It seeks not to only render financial help to young women but also to give them the needed encouragement to make decisions that will yield something profitable in future for them and not allow the challenge of life to swallow them.”
