After FIFA recently wrote to the Government of Ghana threatening it with a ban, the president Akuffo-Addo led government has through a leaked letter Ghanacelebrities.com intercepted responded to the world’s football governing body.
The Government of Ghana in the leaked letter to respond to threats by world football governing body, FIFA is asking for further engagement in order to resolve the impasse.
It would be recalled that FIFA in a letter on Monday, threatened to suspend Ghana from the federation if the government does not withdraw the petition it filed in court to liquidate the Ghana Football Association (GFA).
According to FIFA, the introduction of the petition by the Attorney General at the high court constitutes an undue interference and influence in the affairs of the GFA.
The GoG has however asked for a further engagement with FIFA at their earliest convenience to “reach a mutually accepted route” to resolving the impasse. No mention of withdrawing the liquidation court case has been stated in the leaked letter.
