Kumawood actor Mmebusem has for the first time come out and denied his marriage to Abena Boatemaa, the special needs lady whose ‘marriage’ with him went viral.
Their marriage was a shock on social media as the lady had Down Syndrome, prompting accusations that the marriage pics were fake or that actor had married her for money.
He later came out to confirm that he had indeed gotten married to Abena Boatemaa and denied it was because of money, although he rejoiced at the fame the viral wedding photos had brought him.
However, over a year down the line he’s now come out to ‘clear the air’, claiming he was never married to Abena.
Speaking on Emelia Brobbey’s ‘Okukuseku’ program, he said the wedding was part of a movie he did whilst working as an ambassador for a foundation which took care of special needs people.
According to him they shot a movie to encourage parents not to abandon their kids with special needs and he had to get married in the movie to Abena Boatemaa.
He said it was pictures from the movie which went viral and because he wanted to keep helping the foundation he agreed to pretend he had really married.
He admitted to Emelia that he’s not married to anyone thus the rumours he married for money are all false.
He confirmed that he’s still a bachelor and waiting for his dream lady.
