Looks like the current crop of musicians have forgotten that old age is meant for every living being on earth but not to some specific persons.
Gyedu Blay Ambolley has hinted on the issue of Ghanaian young artistes who do not attend funerals of their ‘fathers’ but would jump in their numbers to attend funerals of younger artistes.
The veteran highlife musician, Gyedu Blay Ambolley had earlier complained about this same attitude of modern artistes when they refused to attend, Paapa Nyankson and CK Mann’s funeral.
Gyedu Blay Ambolley expressed anger when speaking in an interview with Graphic Showbiz during the burial ceremony of legendary Jewel Akah where none of the young artistes showed up.

“It does not sit right to have a funeral of such a big legend and not see the young generation of musicians around.
“Jewel Ackah for so many years, entertained people in their homes, cars, offices, markets and everywhere. So if that person who gave us that sort of entertainment is no more, the least we can do is to accord him our last respect by showing up at his funeral.
“Ghana belongs to all of us and each one of us contributes in one way or the other. We don’t have to wait for one person to die before eulogising him or her.
“We need to sit up as a people. If we do not come together and forge ahead as a team, we will remain divided,” he said.
