Patience Osarfo, the nursing mother who was assaulted by the policeman, Federick Amanor at the banking hall of Midland Savings and Loans Limited has been compensated with a house and an undisclosed amount of money by the financial institution.
Lawyer of Patience Osarfo, Samson Lardi Anyenini on Joy News’ Newsfile disclosed the compensation package.
“Well, to avoid a civil suit against Midland Savings and in compensation for the punches, trauma and embarrassment, we just closed a rather ‘generous’ deal that removes her from the kiosk to owning a brand new house; and from the streets hawking toffee to a woman now with multiple bank accounts”, he said.
He continued that;
“Yes, her worries no longer include how to feed her family and provide healthcare for the two months old baby. Her GHS270 savings account now holds a substantial sum. Her dilemma is simply deciding what dignified trade to invest in”.
“Patience is certainly overflowing with gratitude for the opportunity of a dignified life for herself and dependants”.
Apart from the compensation package by Midland Savings and Loans Limited, other generous individuals have donated some amount of money to Patience Osarfo for the upkeep of her kids.
