Former Black Stars midfielder Michael Essien has taken the first steps towards becoming a manager after completing a course to earn his coaching badges.
Essien studied at the Football Association of Wales Coaching Education Centre, completing a course for a UEFA ‘B’ coaching licence.
The training course included both classroom and practical lessons. As part of their lessons Essien and his coursemates had to analyze some games from the 2018 World Cup.
The UEFA B License is a level below the UEFA A Licence and allows holders to be head coaches of men’s amateur clubs, youth teams up to age 16, and assistant coaches for professional clubs.
Congrats to Essien.
