Ghanaians did not disappoint at all on the birthday of Ghanaian Legendary boxer, Azumah Nelson, as he celebrates his 60th birthday today, July 19, 2018.
The three-times world boxing champion has received a lot of heartwarming messages from Ghanaians on social media as well as from corporations, very important personnel and others.
Former President Jerry Rawlings who is on record to have discovered and mentored the boxing legend sent a congratulatory message showering some praises on him for his hard work, dedication and projecting Ghana to the world with his talent.
Jerry Rawlings in an interview on Joy FM said;
“As successful as he became, he didn’t allow that to go to his head. Azumah retained his humility. Some people would have been spoilt a long time ago but not this man (Azumah)”.
Azumah Nelson in his boxing career fought 47 times, won 39, lost 6 and drew 2 of his total bouts.
