Anyone who has ever called an emergency service in any civilised country will attest to the fact that, those who answer the calls have special skills in calming you and offering hope and good standardized advice in relation to your predicament.
In Ghana, the below prank call by a lady has shown that, don’t bother calling if you are in trouble or need assistance—because the manner you would be spoken to, will exacerbate your situation, especially if what is needed is calm.
Respect is a virtue but it seems with the Ghana Emergency Service, it’s a greeting.
All I want to say is WTF—we are screwed at every level.
And those who are saying the young lady shouldn’t have pranked an emergency service, how else would we have known about what is obviously a gross incompetence and lack of professionalism of the people hired to offer assistance to the vulnerable at any point in time?
Nothing seems to work in Ghana.
