Former MP for Awutu Senya West and Minister for Foreign Affairs under the John Dramani Mahama administration, Hannah Tetteh, has received an appointment as the next United Nations (UN) Director-General in Nairobi, Kenya.
UN Secretary-General António Guterres announced today (Friday) the appointment of the Ghanaian to head the organization’s office in the capital of the Eastern African nation.
Hannah Tetteh replaces Ms. Sahle-Work Zewde, who leaves to take up a new post as Special Representative to the African Union and Head of the United Nations Office to the African Union (UNOAU).
A longstanding mainstay of Ghanaian politics, Hannah is a vastly experienced lawyer and communicator who served two terms in Parliament and was a Minister under both the Atta Mills and JDM NDC administrations.
