The Ghana Education Service (GES) has dismissed four (4) teachers of the Ejisuman Senior High School for sexually abusing females in the school.
The four are among nine teachers who were banned in March 2018 after news broke that such behaviours were happening in the school. This was disclosed by the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of GES, Casandra Twum Ampofo, in an interview with Citi FM on Thursday, July 5.
“There are nine teachers, and for four of them, management came up with termination of appointment. With the other four, we have directed the Regional Director to transfer them, but before that they will sign a bond of good behaviour. With the ninth teacher, we however established that he was framed up by one of the colleagues who saw him as a threat to his relationship with a student so he was exonerated,” she stated.
The development led to the setting up of a committee to investigate the matter and recommend the appropriate sanctions. Some students who appeared before the panel narrated the troubling moments when teachers propositioned them. “He took my hands and placed it on his trousers and I removed it. He told me I am not a kid and I know what message he is trying to send across, but I told him I did not understand him,” one narrated.

Another student revealed how she refused to do what a teacher asked of her since they were in town and in the middle of traffic. “He said I should take his manhood into my mouth but I refused,” she narated.
