Despite always being at loggerheads Ghana and Nigeria have far too much in common — especially on the bad side of things.
A fuel truck exploded on the streets of Lagos late Thursday, setting numerous cars ablaze and killing at least nine people, with scores others injured.
The incident occurred on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway as the tanker lost control and was overturned.
Fuel started leaking from it, catching fire and spreading quickly to other cars.
According to the BBC, over 50 cars, including 5 buses, were caught in the blaze.
In a statement, President Buhari said he’s “very sad to learn of the tragic loss of lives”.
“Sadly, this seems to be one of the greatest tragedies we have seen in recent times,” he added.
