The BET Awards 2018 was held at the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles and for the first time, Nigerian superstar Davido made Africa proud as he became the first African artiste to receive the Best International Act award on the stage.
Born David Adedeji Adeleke aka Davido beat the likes of Booba (France), Cassper Nyovest (SA), Dadju (France), Distruction Boyz (SA), Fally Ipupa (Dr. Congo), J Hus (UK), Niska (France), Tiwa Savage (Nigeria), Stefflon Don (UK) and Stormzy (UK) to win the prize.
Davido on stage paid tribute to his colleague, D’Banj for losing his 1-year-old son and also acknowledged all Nigerians for their immense support as well as colleagues in the same category.

He ended his short speech by telling everyone present to visit Africa to experience the unique African culture.
Davido’s award was presented by Hollywood actor Omar Hardwick and actress Tika Sumpter.
