A deputy chief of staff at the Presidency, Francis Asenso-Boakye, has sued A Plus for defamation, asking for damages to the whopping tune of Ghc 20m.
In a suit filed at the high court in Accra Boakye argues that A Plus has soiled his reputation with constant claims of corruption against him.
He cites two high profile posts by the controversial rapper and asks for two forms of reliefs — Ghc 8m for aggravated and exemplary damages and Ghc 12m compensation for injury to character.
He also seeks an unconditional retraction and an unqualified apology from the artist published in the Daily Graphic.
The suit was filed on behalf of the deputy chief of staff by his lawyer, Samson Lardi Ayenini.
Last year, A Plus alleged corruption at the Presidency, fingering the two chiefs of staff Abu Jinapor and Francis Asenso-Boakye and accusing them of selling access to the President.
During the Kwesi Nyantakyi saga he also alleged the FA bosses’ arrest was as cover up for a corrupt deal and once again fingered Asenso as corrupt as his name had cropped up in the sting operation of Nyantakyi carried out by Anas.
Communications minister Ursula Owusu has a similar defamation suit in court against the outspoken musician, real name Kwame Asare Obeng.
