Morocco’s bid to become the country to host the 2026 edition of the Fifa World Cup has lost out to the North American bid classified as the ‘United’ bid.
The United States of America, Canada and Mexico have seen their joint bid win out over Morocco’s single nation bid.
At the Fifa congress held in Russia today, at which Ghana was not able to vote due to the ongoing issues with our football, the United bid garnered 134 votes to emerge as clear winners.
Morocco was only able to gather 65 votes.
After the 2018 World Cup which is occurring in Russia, the tournament goes to Asia for Qatar 2022 then to North America for USA/Canada/Mexico 2026.
